Deputy Chief of Tribal Operations Spotlight

Stacey Stabler is an 18.5-year Army veteran and an enrolled member of the Omaha Tribe.  She comes from the Te SiNde clan and her Indian name is Te Wau (Buffalo Woman).  Her grandparents are the late Tom C. and the late Cecilia Walker, and her parents are Danny Sr. and the late Emmaline Sanchez. 

 

She grew up in Edinburg, Texas along with her six brothers: Daniel Jr., Jason, Eric, Duane, Tommy, and Kerry—four of her brothers have also obtained their master’s degrees and three are also Army veterans.  At a young age, she was heavily influenced by her father’s strong work ethic and her mother’s unconditional love. 

 

Starting on July 29, 2024, Stacey has accepted the position of Deputy Chief of Tribal Operations for the Omaha Tribe.  Some of her duties will include the direct planning, staffing, organization and budgeting of day-to-day functioning.  She will oversee the daily tribal business operations and will provide advice to the Chief of Tribal Operations and the Tribal Council. 

 

Stacey is a highly driven and accomplished business professional with experience in daily business operations, project coordination, organizational leadership and delivering innovative solutions to complex challenges.  Coupled with her experience, Stacey combines business acumen with strategic planning.  Additionally, Stacey has received her Security Clearance issued by the United States Department of State.  Throughout her career, she has immersed herself in mastering new skills.   

 

Furthermore, Stacey has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master’s in Management degree from Doane University.  She previously worked at the Department of Veteran Affairs and All Native Group, a Division of Ho-Chunk, Inc.   

 

In her free time, you can find her at one of her children’s football, basketball, track, gymnastics or cheerleading events.  Stacey is the mother of: Mikyle, Tristan, Braden and Shana with father/companion Eddy.  Of all her achievements, her greatest role is Motherhood and is the honor of her life.
